This cartoon really hit the spot with me so enjoy.

Sorry, but I've nicked Matt's genius from The Daily Telegraph
However, neither the Telegraph or any of the other media outlets will allow comments on the fact that they’ve chosen to use their front pages to tell us that the dancer and sometime Channel Five presenter Natasha Kaplinsky has had a baby, so I have to do it here:
I soooo don’t care!

…and the Daily Mail has started to use page 3 to print the most useless tosh imaginable – today, Joan Collins’s hair slightly ruffled on arrival at some awards ceremony. Maybe they are trying to lighten the mood of the nation!

This has a resentful air about it Dave!
Could it be that Natasha didn’t share her ‘Top City Tips’ with you in the way that Tiffany did? (there’s no ‘p’ in tipts, for those unaquainted with LiveTV (RIP))
Or did she get the last pie in the canteen queue?
It could be that there is only one Natasha for us all & who wouldn’t prefer a bit of Kinky to a bit of Kerplunky?
I reckon Joan Collins’s hair was ruffled as she was helping Oliver Tobias with his gear change in his role as Stud/Chauffer
“While you’re down there Joan”!!

Put it this way – I must have seen the Polanski film about five times and it is probably still top of my favourite film list. Conversely, if I was to have a list of favourite news readers (which I don’t) Natasha ‘Kerplunky’ wouldn’t be on it.
Good to see you for the swim the other eve – drag me out more often Mike. I’m rapidly losing my ability to keep doing the fitness stuff and need an ‘enforcer’.

Didn’t see the Polanski original, but I enjoyed the BBC version of ‘Tess Of The D’Urbervilles on Sunday nights. One of the finest things about it was the music – just perfect and not too intrusive. Modern films seem to have overblown orchestral music almost constantly blaring away in the background which smoothes out any rise & fall in the action and irritates me greatly! Top marks must also go to the music in the recent series ‘The Tudors’ – an excellent theme and again all perefect in the placement. I suspect our humble scribe Troy was far too interested in The Lady Jane as depicted – all blonde and demure…

Yeah, I was impressed with the whole Tess production including the music. And agree about The Tudors. Originally I didn’t like the theme or the drama but it grew on me – and became unmissable.
Still worth checking out the Polanski film – there’s an amazing atmosphere to that film which made a huge impression on me. Critics might say that he softened Hardy’s brutal assessment but I still think it’s really powerful. Maybe And has more to say as our resident film expert. I’d like to know our And’s opinion of the director.
